Staff Diversity Initiatives
Staff Diversity Initiatives (SDI) engages staff and management to ensure staff diversity throughout the campus at all levels of employment, fosters an inclusive workplace environment with a welcoming climate, and links staff diversity efforts to the public mission of the University in support of a holistic vision for the campus.
The BSA Mentorship Program is a volunteer program, coordinated by the Career Development Committee, that pairs experienced campus staff members with staff who are looking to develop themselves professionally. Participants have the opportunity to build connections, explore challenges, and better understand the Berkeley organizational culture.
July 26, 2017 marked the 5th Annual Next Opportunity at Work Conference (NOW Conference) for UC Berkeley staff. The all-day conference is designed to support staff career development through inspiring keynote speakers, concurrent workshops, and career planning resources.
The Center for Organizational and Workforce Effectiveness, through a partnership with Counseling and Psychological Services and Central Human Resources, offers free staff career development workshops. These services are offered to help staff in building a career on campus by developing a plan to connect personal interests and abilities with career opportunities available at the University.
